Fire Damper

A fire damper has one job: when heat arrives, the 120°C thermal fuse or spring-return actuator slams the blades shut and the duct stops being a road for fire. Heavy-duty GI or SS frames and blades, built for rated penetrations: never the line item to value-engineer out of a fire-rated penetration.

Where are fire dampers required?

Wherever a duct penetrates a fire-rated wall, slab or shaft. Codes treat them as life-safety devices: never the line item to value-engineer out of a penetration.

How does a fire damper work?

A 120°C thermal fuse or spring-return actuator slams the blades shut when heat arrives, so the duct stops carrying flame between compartments.
